About

Caroline Lobsey is a visual artist working across multiple disciplines including painting, drawing and photography.

She draws inspiration from the simple shapes and forms of the landscape around her. As as a avid traveller her images are often captures of fleeting moments passing through new environments. Keenly interested in the play between shadow and light Caroline’s reductive artworks are pared back into the landscape’s most basic forms.

Born in England, Caroline studied in Fine Art at Newcastle Polytechnic before living in London and working in the field of fashion styling. After immigrating to Australia she continued to interweave art into her career in fashion and antiques. She has gone on to run an female led artist run gallery in the Hunter Valley for eight years as well as teaching. She continues her practice from her studio in Morpeth, NSW.
